Swabhimani Janandolan convention supporting CM to be held in Nov
NT Correspondent Mysuru: Members of various progressive, dalit and backward class org anizat i o n s have decided to hold a 'Swabhimani Jan Andolan' convention during the month of November at Maharaja College grounds in the city to extend support to beleaguered Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. A decision to this effect was taken by leaders of various organizations from the districts of Mysuru, Chamarajanagar, Hassan, Kodagu and Mandya at the preliminary meeting convened to discuss preparations, on Sunday.
Addressing the meeting, former Karnataka Pradesha Kurubara Sangha president B Subramanya said that the convention is organized to expose the conspiracy hatched by JDSBJP leaders to malign the image of Siddaramaiah, whose government is pro poor, pro-women, profarmer and pro-Ahinda classes. Both parties' efforts to destabilize the majority Congress government in the state will be highl ight ed dur ing the convention. This convention also aims at extending moral support to Siddaramaiah with lakhs of people expcted to arrive from across the state.
The date and timing of the convention will be disclosed later, he said. A book on 'MUDA case and its truths'brought out by Karnataka Vakilara Jagrutha Vedike was also released on the occasion. KPCC spokesperson M Lakshman and District Congress president B J Vijaykumar were present.
