
BBMP chief hears out garbage, footpath encroachment plaints

In a preliminary steps to solve public grievances, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) conducted a grievance addresal meeting for the south zone in Jayanagar on Sunday which was headed by Chief Commissioner Tushar Girinath. Girinath, along with zonal commissioner Vinoth Priya and other zonal officers, heard around 40 grievances put forth by 50 citizens in a hall of the BBMP zonal office. A lot of the complaints pertained to footpath encroachments in various areas like Wilson Garden, Jayanagar and Basavangudi. Girinath assured the complainants that they would be cleared after an inspection. Garbage littering in residential areas like Kumaraswamy Layout, Basavangudi and Athiguppe, dangerously tilting trees in Chickpet and Basavangudi, choked side drains in Madhavan Park in Jayanagar, illegal buildings at Wilson Garden and a Rajakaluve in Jayanagar being encroached by a builder were the other complaints. Meanwhile, owing to maintenance work, the crematorium owned by BBMP in RR Nagar zone will be closed till Monday.
