Top brass of Mandya police contract Corona

Bengaluru: The top brass of the Mandya police department have tested Covid positive and all of them are under home quarantine.

According to sources, the Mandya SP, Additional SP, three Deputy Superintendent of Police and several inspectors of various police stations and subdivisions of the district have contracted Corona. Luckily, all of them are out of danger.

The Mysuru SP has been asked to temporarily look after neighbouring Mandya district till the Mandya SP and his team recover from the pandemic, sources added.

It is said that the cops organised an annual sports meet recently and they might have contacted the virus then. Besides, they had made security arrangements for a youth festival in which Chief Minister Basavaraja Bommai participated.
