A tragic incident unfolded when Jeeva (33), a lawyer, was found dead by suicide in her Padmanabhnagar home. She had been living alone after her sister, Sangeeta, left for Mangalore for work. Concerned after failing to reach Jeeva by phone, Sangeeta asked a friend to check on her. Upon arriving, the friend found the door locked from the inside, leading to a suspicion. Local residents and the police were alerted, and when the door was forcibly opened, they discovered Jeeva had hanged herself.
Before her death, Jeeva had written an 11- page “death note,” which implicated CID investigators in her suicide. The note revealed that Jeeva had been repeatedly summoned by the CID regarding an illegal case related to the Bhovi Development Corporation. She alleged that the investigators had subjected her to mental torture, which ultimately led to her despair. Based on the death note and a complaint filed by Sangeeta, a case has been registered against the CID officers at Banashankari Police Station. DCP Lokesh Bharampappa Jaglasa of the South Division confirmed that the investigation is ongoing.
Jeeva, a lawyer by profession, also ran a wooden factory near Peenya, where she had been involved in supplying materials to the Bhovi Development Corporation. Investigations revealed irregularities amounting to over Rs 86 crores during 2020-2021, with several individuals, including the Corporation’s former Managing Director, facing charges.
