
Gundu Rao highlights importance of nursing

Healthcare Global Enterprises Limited (HCG), India’s leading cancer care network, successfully hosted the 5th Annual National Nursing Conference 2024, titled Transforming Nursing for Future Healthcare- A New Insight, at Hotel Grand Magrath, Bengaluru. The event brought together over 400 delegates, with notable attendees including the Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Karnataka Dinesh Gundu Rao, Dr. M. K. Ramesh, Vice Chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Raj Gore, CEO of HCG, and Dr. Vishal Rao, Group Director of Head Neck Surgical Oncology at HCG. Dinesh Gundu Rao commended the nursing community for its dedication and resilience, particularly post-COVID-19, and emphasised the need for continuous investment in nursing education and emotional support.
He underscored the significant role nurses play in patient care and the healthcare system, urging efforts to further strengthen the profession’s impact. Raj Gore, CEO of HCG, reiterated the importance of supporting nurses through ongoing education and evidence-based practices to improve patient outcomes. The conference explored critical issues in nursing, including violence against nurses in healthcare settings, generational differences in organisational culture, and the growing influence of artificial intelligence in nursing practice. Panel discussions also highlighted the importance of physician-nurse collaboration and strategies to enhance the mental well-being of frontline nurses. This year’s conference reinforced HCG’s commitment to nursing excellence, ensuring nurses receive the resources and support necessary to excel in India’s rapidly evolving healthcare sector.
