Chief civic commissioner Tushar Girinath on Monday stated that more manpower will be pushed into the Assistant Revenue Offices (AROs) in a bid to ensure smooth procurement of an eKhata. As of last week, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) had 40,000 pending eKhatas. “As of today, it has come down to 2,000. We are expecting the same number daily,” he added.

As earlier reported, 800 new logins and 1000 caseworkers have been inducted. “Every ward will now have an additional ARO. The zonal commissioners have the power to make Assistant Executive Engineers, Health workers or anyone who is equally qualified as an ARO will temporarily assume the role of it,” he added. News Trail had reported allegations from residents of bribery demands by officers to obtain the final eKhata. “The helpline number 94806 83695 is established for this very purpose. Those officers demanding the same will be dealt with strict action,” he concluded.
