
ZP CEO pay surprise visit to GP, inspects school, anganwadi centres; notices for irregular staff

Zilla Panchayat chief executive officer K M Gayathri on Friday paid a surprise visit to Kethupura Gram Panchayat to inspect the implementation of development works in T Narasipura taluk in the district. The officer also inspected the pumping station set up to draw water from river Cauvery near the village under the multi village drinking water supply scheme. She asked the officers to keep the surroundings of the pumping station clean besides constructing a retaining wall around the jackwell at the staton. As the station is located in the forest area, she also directed the local panchayat development officer to construct the connecting road to the main road by taking necessary permission from forest department officials.
She also asked the officials to stop supplying drinking water from borewells, and instead supply water to villagers by pumping it from the river. Officials were also told to keep the overhead tanks clean besides educating villagers about the adverse health effects of people drinking borewell water. The ZP CEO who also visited the GP office, inspected the attendance register and asked the PDO to issue show cause notices to employees registering their attendance late. She also visited the anganwadi centres and school in the village and collected information from students regarding the supply of midday meals and its quality.
