Bengaluru/Ramanagar: Bengaluru Rural Lok Sabha member D.K.Suresh has alleged that the BJP government sent ‘Corona infected officers’ to meet his brother and KPCC President D.K.Shivakumar with the intention of infecting him so that the ongoing Mekedatu padayatra would come to a halt.
Talking to the media in Ramanagar on Monday, he said the officers in question were Corona positive patients and wanted to meet his brother only to spread the virus to him. For this reason, his brother refused to get the RT-PCR test done by the officers Sunday night. Besides, several Corona positive persons have been sent to join the padayatra so that the Congress can be blamed for the outbreak of the pandemic in the state, he claimed.
On the filing of an FIR against 30 persons including former CM Siddaramaiah and other senior Congress leaders for taking out the padayatra, Suresh said the padayatra was aimed at ensuring that the state government implements the much-delayed Mekedatu project in Kanakapura taluk of Ramanagar district that was conceived way back in 1968.
The Siddaramaiah government had prepared a Detailed Project Report (DPR) and sent it to the government of India for approval. The FIR filed by Sathanur police would be questioned in a court of law and they are confident of getting justice, he added.
