Bengaluru: A gruesome murder unfolded at a meat shop in Bengaluru’s Begur area late Monday night. Afsar (45), a butcher and resident of Shivajinagar, was killed by his business partner, Akbar (47), during a heated argument. Akbar, who is now on the run, attacked Afsar with a machete, delivering a fatal blow to his head. According to the Begur police, the two men had jointly opened a butcher shop eight months ago.
However, their partnership soured after Akbar decided to start his own business. He demanded the return of Rs 20,000, which he had invested in the shop, leading to a series of altercations. On Monday night, the dispute escalated into violence when Akbar visited the shop. The argument turned physical, culminating in Akbar striking Afsar with a machete. Witnesses reported that Afsar collapsed immediately, succumbing to severe head injuries.
The police and forensic teams arrived at the scene shortly after being alerted. The body was sent to a nearby hospital for post-mortem, and a manhunt is underway to apprehend the suspect.
