Patna: RJD leader Tejaswi Yadav on Tuesday called on TRS chief and Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in Hyderabad, reportedly to discuss present political situation in the country.
RJD leaders in Patna, however, claimed that Tejaswi paid a courtesy call on CM Rao in Hyderabad and no other meaning should be attached to the visit. In the same breath, TRS tweeted, “Bihar leader of opposition Tejaswi Yadav made a courtesy call on chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao at Pragathi Bhavan in Hyderabad today. RJD leaders, including former minister Abdul Bari Siddiqi, former MLC Sunil Singh and former MLA Bhola Yadav were also present.”
The meeting was also attended by TRS working president and minister KT Rama Rao and RJD leaders. On January 8, the Telangana CM had also met CPM national general secretary Sitaram Yechuri, Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan, Kerala MP Binay Viswam, among others and discussed various issues including the national political scenario with them. Tejaswi has met Rao at a time when there is also a delay in the all-party meeting to be convened by Bihar CM Nitish on the caste census in the state.
In September last year, Tejaswi had written letters to 33 non-BJP leaders across the country seeking their support on the issue of caste census for OBCs. Nitish has already promised that he will call all-party meeting on the issue and his government will conduct caste census as the Centre is not keen for it. He said he is waiting for the BJP’s response before he convenes all-party meeting on the caste census, triggering political speculations in the state.
