Bengaluru: Concerned over the steady spike in Corona cases since January 1, the state government has decided to extend the Covid curbs including night curfew and weekend curfew till the month-end as a precautionary measure. It was also decided to re-open all 27 Corona Care Centres (CCCs) across Bengaluru city with immediate effect.
This was decided at a virtual meeting convened by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, who has tested positive, at his residence here on Tuesday. The meeting directed Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) authorities to ramp up RT-PCR testing up to 1.3 lakh tests per day for the early detection and treatment of patients. The CM was concerned about the sudden explosion in Corona cases in the city and insisted that the guidelines be strictly implemented. The meeting also dwelt at length on the situation in the districts, especially where there has been an increase in cases.
