Mysuru: A day after celebrating Sankranti at his farm house on T Narasipur road, Kannada film star Darshan Thoogudeepa who was released on bail in connection with the Renukaswamy murder case, arrived at Manipal hospital in the city on Wednesday for treatment for back pain and spinal issues. He was accompanied by his friend Dhanveergowda. Dr Ajay Hegde who has been treating Darshan, reportedly administered an injection to the actor for spinal issues and back pain and advised him rest for three days.
Sources said he has been advised surgery if the pain persists. All the accused in the Renukaswamy murder case, who are all on bail, appeared before the 57th CCH Court in Bengaluru five days ago as mandated by the court as part of the bail procedure. Their next appearance has been scheduled for February 25. Chitradurga native Renukaswamy’s body was found near a stormwater drain in Sumanahalli in west Bengaluru, on June 9. The police investigation led to the arrests of actor Darshan, his friend Pavithra and 15 other associates.
After probing the case for nearly three months, police filed a chargesheet on September 3, naming Pavithra accused 1 and Darshan accused number 2. Police concluded that the motive for the murder was Renukaswamy sending obscene messages to Pavithra. On December 13, the High Court of Karnataka granted conditional bail to Darshan, who was already out on interim bail on medical grounds
