NTA updates NEET UG 2025 admissions
NT Correspondent
Bengaluru: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released an official notification updating the admissions process for courses based on NEET UG scores. The notification stated that, in continuation of the public notice dated January 16, 2025, NEET (UG)-2025 scores and merit lists will also be applicable for admissions to BDS and BVSc & AH courses, as per established practices and the rules of respective regulatory bodies.
In an earlier announcement, the NTA clarified that NEET (UG)-2025 will be conducted in pen-and-paper mode (OMR-based) on a single day and in a single shift. This decision marks a departure from key recommendations made by a seven-member high-level committee last year. The notification further outlined the applicability of NEET (UG) for other courses. Under Section 14 of the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine Act, 2020, NEET (UG) will be the uniform entrance test for undergraduate courses such as BAMS, BUMS, and BSMS in all institutions governed by the Act.
Additionally, NEET (UG) scores will be required for admission to BHMS courses under the National Commission for Homeopathy. The notice also addressed Military Nursing Service (MNS) aspirants. Candidates seeking admission to B.Sc. Nursing courses conducted at Armed Forces Medical Service Hospitals in 2025 must qualify for NEET (UG). The scores will be used to shortlist candidates for the four-year B.Sc. Nursing program. For more information, candidates are encouraged to visit the official NTA website.
