Bengaluru: This past weekend, Bengaluru was filled with excitement and energy as Bengaluru Comic Con made its return to the city. The two-day event, held on January 18 and 19, brought together comic book fans, gamers, cosplayers and pop culture lovers from all over, making it an unforgettable experience. The event kicked off with fans pouring into the venue dressed in costumes of their favourite characters. From Spider-Man and Venom to characters from anime and video games, cosplayers showcased their craftsmanship and creativity.
The World Cosplay Summit – India qualifier gave these individuals a chance to shine on stage and the audience was left in awe of their costumes and performances. Some went all out with props and makeup, bringing their characters to life. Along with the cosplayers, attendees were busy shopping for comic books, collectables and merchandise. Booths were filled with stacks of comic books, including popular titles from Marvel, DC and Indian comics like Tinkle and Ammar Chitra Katha. Fans picked up limited-edition collectables, ranging from action figures to posters and artwork from their favourite creators. Merch booths were packed with t-shirts, mugs and other fun merchandise, giving fans the chance to take home a piece of the event. The second day continued the fun, with even more cosplay, creator sessions and shopping.
Creators like Ron Marz, a legendary comic writer, held special sessions where fans could learn about the art of comic creation and hear about their favourite characters' stories from the experts themselves. On the other side, attendees enjoyed shows like The Internet Said So and Rahul Subramanian, keeping the laughs going throughout the day. "The cosplay contests were definitely the highlight for me. I have never seen so many talented people in one place."
