HCM: No attachment of CM's family sites in ED's attachment of 142 sites

Mysuru: State social welfare and district in-charge minister Dr HC Mahadevappa on Sunday said that the attachment of more than 142 immovable properties worth Rs 300 crore in the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) scam by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is not at all linked to the case involving CM Siddaramaiah. Such an attachment and tweets by the ED is meant to target the CM to malign his image and bring a bad name to his government, he said.
Replying to a reporter’s query here, he claimed that right from the beginning of this case, the CM and his family were targeted. The 14 alternative sites which were obtained by the CM's family are legal, he added. The sites which are attached by the ED are related to benami sites, distributed under the controversial 50: 50 scheme of MUDA, he said. There is no connection between the ED's attachment of MUDA properties and the investigation undertaken by the ED against the CM in the money laundering case, Dr Mahadevappa said.
MLC Yathindra Siddaramaiah who also spoke on the occasion, said that ED attached the properties of MUDA related to irregularities which occurred during BJP rule. The ED did not attach the 14 sites obtained by Parvathi, the CM's wife, he said. He said that his father CM Siddaramaiah is being targeted by the BJP by misusing central agencies like the ED.
