Rajanna performance unsatisfactory, alleges Cong MLA

Chikkamagaluru: Congress MLA from Kadur KS Anand on Monday slammed Co-operation Minister KN Rajanna for commenting on the need for a new Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president. He added that Rajanna and three other ministers had been doing an unsatisfactory job and that the party should have a closer look at them. Deputy CM DK Shivakumar is the KPCC president.

It is being argued by Rajanna and other CM Siddaramaiah loyalists like Public Works Minister Satish Jarkiholi that Shivakumar needs to be replaced because he holds two offices that require a lot of attention. Rajanna, who is in Shivakumar’s camp, hit back against Rajanna, adding that there was no need for a change in the post of Karnataka Congress president. He added that Shivakumar was doing a good job.

Satish Jarkiholi had remarked that the Congress high command had planned on replacing Shivakumar as the KPCC president after the Lok Sabha elections concluded in June last year and should follow up on the promise. Home Minister G Parameshwara agreed that one should not hold two posts at the same time as both demanded a lot of attention. Shivakumar took charge as Karnataka Congress president on July 2, 2020.
