Bengaluru: A rowdy - sheeter who stabbed four people in the Indiranagar police station area has been arrested. He was detained for 8 days and during interrogation has claimed that he did not know why he committed the crime, the police said. On February 8, the rowdy- sheeter named Kadamba, stabbed Jaswanth, Thammaiyya, Mahesh Sitapati and Deepak Kumar with a knife within a span of 20 minutes at Indiranagar 3rd Cross Road and fled. The police, who registered a case, arrested the accused in Hosakote.
His father, Suresh, brother Vishnu and sister Sushmita, who helped him escape, were also arrested. Further investigation is underway in this regard, said Ramesh Banoth, Additional Commissioner of Police, East Division. The accused, who had stopped Jaswant on his bike at around 9.30 pm on February 8 in what appears to be a bid to go and fetch drinking water from a pure water plant, said he attacked him as he took the wrong turn! The accused has been involved in criminal acts earlier too and had made similar statements when he was arrested and interrogated. Hence, he was included in the rowdy list last year. His brother Vishnu is also a rowdy sheeter and was previously deported by the East Division police station.
