'Sustainable tech plays big role in promotion of bio-fuel upgradation'

Mysuru: State Bio Fuels Development Board Chairman S E Sudhindra on Wednesday said that sustainable technologies will play a decisive role in promotion of state biofuel upgradation and commercialization activities. He was speaking after inaugurating a two-day international conference on recent research developments in sustainable technology, organised jointly by the National Institute of Engineering, Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Germany, and the Indian Institute of Engineering at NIE’s South Campus in the city.

He said that Karnataka is the first state in the country to implement the recommendation of the National Biofuel Policy of 2009. The state government has given a special thrustt to sustainable development technologies. The state biofuel sector will witness tremendous sustainable technological upgradation in the upcoming months, he said adding that the.

State Biofuel Board has focused on promotion of biomass briquettes, bio pellets, bio-diesel 2G ethanol, compressed biogas, and green hydrogen projects. State Biofuels Development Board representatives had participated in the recently concluded Global Investors Meet 2025 in a bid to attract one lakh billion dollar investment in biofuel promotion activities with adoption of new sustainable technologies.
