Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was congratulated for his new tourism policy by businesspersons associated with the sector. A delegation of trade associations and entrepreneurs called on the CM in the backdrop of his department-wise, pre-Budget meetings. These were followed up by the CM holding meetings with associations relevant to various departments at the Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru on Friday.
The state Budget is due to be presented by Siddaramaiah who holds the Finance portfolio, on March 7. The meetings kicked off with the tourism business associations. They said that the State government’s policies would increase the footfall of tourists in Karnataka and support the growth of industries as well.
Tourism Minister HK Patil has in the past emphasized intra-state tourism for the commoner, which he believes would make the sector dynamic. Later on associations relevant to the Transport Department (private logistics sector) and Excise Department (liquor retailers) and the like made presentations to Siddaramaiah.
