Bengaluru: A parked car was completely gutted after flames from burning garbage spread to the vehicle in Chandapura, Anekal Taluk, on the city’s outskirts. The car belonged to Vignesh, whose friend, Gaurishankar, had driven it from Chennai to Bengaluru. After their trip, Gaurishankar parked the car near a friend’s PG in Keerthi Layout. Around 3 am, someone set fire to a pile of garbage nearby, and the flames quickly spread to the car, engulfing it within minutes.
Firefighters rushed to the scene and struggled to contain the blaze. Fortunately, a nearby car and a two-wheeler remained undamaged. The incident was reported at Surya Nagar Police Station, and authorities are investigating to identify the person responsible for lighting the fire. Fire department officials stated that the flames spread rapidly due to strong winds in the early hours. Despite their swift response, the car was completely charred before the fire could be extinguished.
