
Cancer can be cured with timely diagnosis, medication: Expert

Mysuru: In a bid to dispel the fear surrounding cancer, a seminar titled 'Myths, misconceptions and facts: Separating truth from fiction about cancer' was held at Seshadripuram Degree College in the city. The programme was jointly organised by Youth Red Cross Society and Rotary Club on the directives of the IQAC.
In a release, surgical oncologist at Cauvery Heart and Multi-Speciality Hospital Dr Kiran Shankar gave a lecture on the ill-effects of cancer and debunked certain preconceived notions associated with the disease. He said that cancer can be cured with timely diagnosis and medication. He also displayed graphic images to assert that the number of cancer cases has skyrocketed in recent times.
