
Leopard on prowl in Mysuru RBI unit trapped

Mysuru: A four-year-old leopard walked straight into the cattle pen trap at Bharatiya Reserve Bank Note Mudran Private Limited (BRBNMPL), the RBI's currency note printing press, in North Mysuru early on Friday. After the big cat was spotted prowling in the campus in Metagalli in the city, forest department officials placed cages including a cattle pen and four cages at strategic location at the BRBNMPL premises after conducting a recee.
Following a movement from the BRBNMPL management 20 days ago, the department had deputed more than 30 staff including the leopard task force and others for the leopard nabbing operation. After 20 days, the leopard walked into the cattle pen trap in the wee hours of Friday. Forest department officials rescued this wild cat and released it into the woods, stated a release from the chief conservator of forests, Mysuru circle.
