Bengaluru,

NT Bureau

To reduce traffic congestion and facilitate smoother movement of vehicles in the central parts of Bengaluru, City Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh has issued an order bringing into force several changes, including parking restrictions and one-way traffic, on certain roads within the High Grounds and Seshadripuram. Singh said these modifications were made after a study revealed obstacles to smooth vehicular movement around the Cantonment Railway Station and Seshadripuram Road.

In the High Grounds area, two-wheelers are now permitted to park on Railway Parallel Road (RP Road) and Harekrishna Road, from the railway underpass up to the eastern side of Kumarapark West (6th Cross). For four- wheelers, including cars, parking is allowed on RP Road and from KP West 6th Cross Road up to RP Road and the BDA office. However, all types of vehicle parking are prohibited on the western side of RP Road and Harekrishna Road, from the railway underpass up to RP Road and the BDA office.

Within the Seshadripuram area, one-way traffic is now mandated on Nehru Circle to NS Iyengar Street (south to north route), NS Iyengar Street to Nagappa Street and up to 3rd Cross (north to south route), and Sampige Road to Shiruru Park Road from west to east. Parking for two-wheelers is prohibited on the western side of Shiruru Park Road and South End Road junction up to Nataraja Cinema on SP Road, and on the northern side of Sampige Road from the BBMP office to Shiruru Park Road. All types of vehicle parking are restricted on Shiruru Park Road and South End Road junction up to SC Road and Sampige Road, towards the east and south directions.
