Skeleton found near apartment that of human

Bengaluru, NT Bureau

The Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) has reported that the skeleton found while cleaning a cistern dug for rainwater harvesting near an apartment under Begur police station limits, is that of a human. The police have initiated a thorough investigation into the matter.

On June 16, a pair of trousers was found along with a skeleton, including a skull and bones when contract workers were cleaning rainwater harvesting pits at MN Credence Flora Apartments in Lakshmipur Layout, Begur. Although it was suspected to be a male skeleton, it was sent to the FSL for confirmation. Officials who examined the skeleton confirmed that it was a man.

It is not yet possible to say for sure when he died. This will be possible only after conducting various studies. Officials said that DNA testing can reveal other information, including the age of the deceased.

The foundation of the MN Credence Flora apartment building was laid in 2012 and the structure completed in 2016. While locals say that there was a cemetery at this place before the construction of the apartment, others claim that the place was a field.

Information is being collected about missing cases registeredat Begur police station and surrounding police stations since 2012.
