19-yr-old attacked with sword during Kaudi Peer Muharram

Belagavi: A 19-year-old youth was attacked with a sword by a group of over 20 people during the Kaudi Peer Muharram at Kasai Galli here on Friday night. Rehan Aslam Mujawar from New Gandhi Nagar in the city sustained severe injuries on his back and head, and has been admitted to BIMS Hospital. He was brutally at tacked while standing on the roadside after the Muharram procession.

It is suspected that the attack was the result of an old rivalry. Police Commissioner Borase Bhushan Gulabrao, DCP Narayan Bharamani and other senior officials visited the spot. A case has been registered at the Market police station and a search is on for the attackers.
