Each call an experience in itself

In times of great stress or adversity. It’s always best to keep busy, to plough your anger and your energy into something positive - Lee Iacocca

During times like these the above quote fits best. The entire mankind is going through times of great adversities, which either brings out the best or the worst in us.

Being from the medical fraternity and a doctor, when we are put through stress in times like these it is an entirely different perspective. I am into telemedicine from the last 8 -9 years , and the daily call range of 10-20 calls a day, has now jumped to 70-80 calls.

Anxious patients are venting out their symptoms. Though the symptoms were mild and could be managed at home, the anticipation of what happened during the second wave has put everyone into a panic state.

The most common query was what about the children if all adults are positive and isolated how to take care of them? All I could tell was to wear your protection before you go near them, but be with them.

The panic and stress reflected in their voice, I mechanically just had to recommend the medication to a few after hearing their symptoms but to a few others, I spent time to hear them out. All that was needed was to hear what they were experiencing.

Every call was an experience in itself ,though the symptoms were mild this wave saw family clusters which were difficult to handle, different age groups under one roof had to be handled in different ways. The comorbidities of the elderly people also had to be addressed.
