Encourage startups with rural focus

At the outset, the scheme is very beneficial and is a mandate step taken by the government. The state being home to over 13,000 startups out of a total 57,000 in the country is definitely an achievement. Women entrepreneurs and the future generation of our country are getting benefited which itself is a huge step towards success and creation of employment. Maximum weightage is given for incubation centers by students which has its own gains and flaws. This must not lead to an imbalance in the criteria and selection of business ideas put forth by students. The scheme promotes the idea of Make in India and digital India which is very necessary. It must also be taken into consideration that not every startup would be technologically driven ior based. Startups that are not technology savvy must also be benefitted at large keeping in mind that most of our population lives in the rural sector. Startups focussing on networking and outreach must equally be supported. Taking a tab of external affairs, funding startups who focus or have an aspect of working with network and outreach is important as it would enable growth of our state people across the country. Having said all of this, it does give me a sense of pride to know that 14 awards were bagged by my State during the National Startup day. In order to lead as an example we must also focus on holistic development of startups which has been mentioned in the scheme.
