Married woman, partner end lives

Bengaluru A 26-year-old married woman along with her 23-year-old live-in partner committed suicide in the Devanahalli area. The latter who was a bachelor was working as a taxi driver. It is said that both of them met just a month back and started living together in a rented house. They claimed to be husband and wife while taking the house on rent. The reason for the suicide is being ascertained.
The police have identified the deceased as Basavaraju, 23, and Jyothi, 26. Both are from Raichur and got to know each other at Kodigehalli in Bengaluru. Within a month of meeting each other, the two fell in love and moved to Devanahalli. They committed suicide by hanging on Saturday.
Earlier, around sixyears- back Jyothi got married to Ramu who is from Kalaburagi. The two came to Kodigehalli to make a living. They did not have children and Jyothi is said to have been upset about not becoming a mother. After she met Basavaraju, she left her husband and started to stay with the former. It is said that both families came to know about the live-in relationship between Jyothi and the taxi driver. After their relationship became public, the two are suspected to have committed suicide by hanging.
The Devanahalli police in the outskirts of the city has registered a case and are investigating.
