Two policemen caught with ganja near Chief Minister’s residence

Bengaluru: In a case of the fence eating the crop, two policemen who were deputed for security duty at the residence of Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai in RT Nagar have been reportedly arrested on charges of drug peddling.
Both the policemen were attached to the Koramangala police station. Assuming that it would be a safe place to peddle drugs near the CM’s residence, they were procuring ganja from two habitual drug peddlers.
The patrolling police caught the two constables red handed when they were trying to sell drugs on the 80 feet road in RT Nagar.
The two policemen were identified as Shiva Kumar and Santosh. Both were deputed for providing security to the chief minister’s house. It is saidthat the duo were peddling drugs for quite some time. When the policemen were subjected to questioning they confessed to have procured the ganja from Akhil Raj and Ahmjad Khan, the habitual drug peddlers.
“On Thursday the police control room received information about the presence of a suspicious auto on 80ft road in RT Nagar police station limits. The Hoysala staff immediately reached the spot, detained four persons and seized the auto. All the four were brought to the police station of whom to were from Koramangala police station,” said an officer on part of investigations. Of the two, one is a head constable while the other is a police constable. During the search ganja was recovered from them. Both the policemen are charged under Section 20b of NDPS act. A case has been registered against them by the RT Nagar police.
Further investigation is under way. The police have seized their mobile phones and are analyzing their mode of operation.
