Siddu: Weekend curfew of no use

Former CM slams Forest Minister Katti for not wearing mask wondering if he is fit to be minister.

Bengaluru: Former CM and senior Congress leader Siddaramaiah has opined that there was no need for the weekend curfew since it will not help in containing the spread of the Covid- 19 pandemic.

Talking to reporters in Mandya on Wednesday, he wanted the government to vaccinate every citizen and ask them to strictly follow Covid Appropriate Behaviour (CAB). What’s the use of having the weekend curfew when it cannot prevent the spread of the virus, he asked.

On Forest Minister Umesh Katti’s refusal to wear a mask, Siddaramaiah said “Katti is unfit to become minister. He has violated Covid rules by not wearing it. Is he fit to be a minister? Why has no case been filed against him? Are these people fit to run the government? When a minister refuses to wear the mask, how can you insist that others wear it”, he wondered.

The Leader of the Opposition said BJP leaders have always been known for their double standards. They are known for saying something and doing something else. If there are violations of Corona rules, they have been committed by BJP leaders, he added.
