
Third wave may peak in Feb: Minister
MYSURU: Mysuru district minister S.T. Somashekar said on Thursday that the number of Covid cases in the city will cross 4,000 per day by February first week and subside after that, he said.
He told mediapersons, “In Mysuru, we are testing all those who are symptomatic, so the positivity rate is high. The decision on Covid restrictions was taken by not just the CM, but by the cabinet based on the advice of experts. It would be decided if those restrictions should be continued or not on Friday,” he said.
On Wednesday, 1341 people, including 89 children, tested positive for Covid 19 in Mysuru, and there were four deaths. Around 9,097 cases are active and among them 233 have been hospitalized.
