Those who violate Covid norms to face the music: CM

Bengaluru: The Chief Secretary has been instructed to book suo motu cases against those who defy covid rules no matter which party or organization they belong to, said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

Talking to reporters here, he said Congress leaders do not have to come and meet him to press for filing of cases against violators as the chief secretary has been given instructions to file cases against everyone who violates Covid rules.

The CM also said the number of Corona cases is likely to peak during the last week of the month or the first week of February. This input had been given by experts on the basis of trends in other states. The state is prepared to face the challenge, he added.

Bommai noted that despite a spike in Corona cases, the admission of patients to hospitals has been very minimal. The health department had been asked to strengthen the OPD in all hospitals.
