Divya Anvekar, widely known by her Instagram handle ‘divya_anvekar11’,  is a 24-year-old vibrant content creator from Belgaum with 70,900 followers, known for her infectious, extroverted energy. Known for her bubbly personality and authentic charm, she has carved out a space in the digital landscape by blending lifestyle storytelling with a deep pride for her regional roots of Belgaum and Konkani culture. Whether she is sharing snippets of her daily life or showcasing the aesthetic beauty of her hometown, Divya brings a high-spirited and relatable perspective that resonates deeply with her growing community.

Choosing CC over CA
Divya shared that she completed her early education in the Kannada medium before transitioning to the English medium during her higher studies. “I pursued B.Com and later enrolled for Chartered Accountancy (CA), but I discontinued it at the intermediate level as I realised that desk jobs don’t offer much creative freedom, which I really needed”, she said in an exclusive interview with News Trail.

She added that she had chosen commerce at a young age while deciding on a career path, but now, with the freedom to choose her own direction, she has moved into full-time digital content creation. According to her, the field offers greater scope for creativity and aligns better with what she wants to do.

The momentum shift
She was quite active on TikTok before the platform was banned during the COVID-19 lockdown, after which she went relatively inactive on Instagram. “It was only last year that I started posting consistently on my account”, Divya shared, adding that her content creation journey has truly gained momentum only recently.

She recalled that one of her earliest uploads was a nature video filmed during a family trip, followed by a cooking video in which she appeared on camera for the first time, preparing homemade momos. Her first viral video, which garnered over six million views, featured her mom preparing Patoli, a traditional Konkan dish made during Nag Panchami.  “Seeing it go viral, there was no looking back. I started posting every day after that”, she stated, adding that her most popular video features her candid rant on why followers expect to see her only in a saree.

Who is divya_anvekar11
“I document everything I do. If I’m doing something nice, if I feel a thought is worth sharing, or if I’m reviewing something or pointing something out, I document it. In general, I see my page as a feel-good space”, Divya said, describing her content style. She further emphasised her focus on creating clean, accessible content that remains appropriate for all audiences. “Even if a five-year-old stumbles onto my page, I want them to feel safe”, she said. Her content includes cooking videos, comedy sketches, makeup recreations, and political satire.

She added that if the Instagram feed were a person, she would want it to be herself, and stated that she had a great deal to offer her audience and intended to continue creating content. Divya also produces content in multiple languages, including English, Kannada, Hindi, Marathi, Konkani, Tamil, and Telugu, enabling her work to reach a wide and diverse audience, particularly among Kannada-speaking viewers.

The next chapter
“I would like to act in a movie or participate in a reality show if I get an opportunity. I want to hit 1 million followers on my Instagram and move out of my house and live independently”, Divya shared her future aspirations. She advised people to believe in themselves, noting that only they truly know what they are doing, “Just don’t listen to the noise. Treat it as background noise and keep your blinders on while moving forward”.
