‘Being kind to yourself is the best thing you can do’: Prerana P
Bengaluru
Prerana P, popularly known as ‘aadelheidd’ on Instagram (1,10,000 followers) and YouTube (92,000 subscribers), is a 21- year-old Bengaluru-based content creator who has become a prominent voice in the city’s vibrant digital scene. She has mastered the art of high-energy, relatable comedy that perfectly mirrors the life and details that usually go unseen. Her content often feels like a love letter to the everyday experiences of a young person in Bangalore, delivered with a sharp wit and a down-to-earth charm that makes her feel more like a friend than a distant influencer.
Beyond her fast-paced comedy skits, Prerana is known for her deep sense of authenticity, frequently bringing her mother into her videos and sharing her genuine passions for gaming and her life as a dedicated cat lover. By staying firmly rooted in her Bengaluru identity while maintaining a fun, approachable vibe, she continues to stand out as one of the most engaging and genuine personalities in the Indian creator space.
Self-discovery
Prerana is a Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) graduate from Ramaiah College of Arts, Science and Commerce in 2025, and she describes her journey as a challenging yet transformative phase shaped by uncertainty, persistence, and self-discovery. “I completed my degree and decided to learn full-stack development, but it eventually led to burnout”, she told News Trail in an exclusive interview, adding that when she realised that coding was not aligned with her interests, she chose to reassess her path.
Prerana had started creating content during her college years in 2024, steadily building an online presence while also facing significant criticism and negativity from peers who watched her videos. After a candid conversation with her parents about pursuing content creation full-time, she encountered resistance due to concerns about job stability. “Since my parents and relatives didn’t see it as a stable career, I chose to attempt the UPSC out of pressure”, she said. However, she withdrew from preparation within three months after recognising her lack of passion for it.
The gap year
Reflecting on her early struggles, Prerana said that being an only child added to the pressure to make the ‘right’ career decision. “I felt I needed to achieve something significant, so I focused on academics. But later, I found myself confused about what direction to take professionally”, she said. After completing her studies, she experienced a period of uncertainty, a common experience for most students. She described it as a phase marked by confusion and darkness. During this time, she explored multiple options, including full-stack development, UPSC preparation, and even taking up a job, none of which worked out as expected.
At the same time, she continued posting content consistently. “I tried to build a routine and even took up a job, but that didn’t work either”, she said, adding that personal and health issues further contributed to her anxiety. Looking back, Prerana considers taking a gap year a defining decision. “It was the best thing I did. I learned valuable life lessons, improved my skills in content creation, and learned to prioritise my mental health”, she said.
She channelled her emotions into her work, using content creation as a form of self-expression.
aadelheidd - origin story
Initially hesitant due to her introverted nature, Prerana was unsure about speaking on camera. However, as her videos began gaining traction, her confidence grew. Her content primarily features relatable skits inspired by real-life observations and experiences. “I follow trends but ensure my content stays authentic and true to what I’ve experienced”, she said, noting her preference for minimal editing to retain a raw, genuine feel.
mphasising the realities of the field, Prerana said content creation requires patience, consistency, and financial planning. “It’s a long journey. You can’t expect immediate results or a stable income right away. It’s important to have savings or multiple income streams”, she advised. “Don’t give up too quickly - explore different paths and keep learning along the way”.
