The Deluge

Bengaluru turned into a swamp Monday evening after heavy rain lashed the city flooding most roads, disrupting  traffic and inundating low lying areas with water entering buildings. Traffic jams were reported in the Majestic area,  Malleswaram, Halasuru, Sadashivanagar, Race Course Road,T Dasarahalli and Chickpet and it took more than 20 minutes to commute from Halasuru Police Station to CMH Road Junction alone due to traffic snarls. There were reports  that a four-wheeler had been washed away at Chikkabanavara. The roads and pavements dug up under Smart City  Project only added to commuters’ woes.
