
Two friends die in an accident
Two friends who had parked their auto to attend nature’s call on NH 75 near a chocolate factory in Mahadevapura were killed after they were hit by a speeding car.
The deceased have been identified as Ramesh, 36, of Chakkasandra and Umesh, 35, of Adepete. Both were friends and were auto drivers by profession.
On Wednesday night at around 8 pm, both the friends had gone to Soluru in an auto and were returning at around 10 pm.
When they reached near the chocolate factory, the decided to stop the auto and attend nature’s call. A car which came from Kunigal side towards Bengaluru rammed into the auto. The friends sustained severe head injuries and died on the spot. The auto was badly damaged due to the impact.
The car driver, identified as Krishna, and a passenger Rakesh also sustained serious injuries and are undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the city. Nelamangala traffic police have registered a case and are further investigating.
Teen dies on birthday
A 19-year-old woman died in a road traffic accident on the day of her birthday in the Hebbal traffic police limits on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Mahashri, a resident of Bhadrappa Layout in Hebbal. She was studying in a government college in Malleswaram and working part-time at a textile shop.
As it was her birthday, her family members asked her to stay home. However Mahashri refused to comply and decided to go for work. She was dropped till the bus stand by her uncle. From the bus stand, she was picked by her friend. While the two-wheeler was going on the flyover near Bhadrappa Layout, Mahashri lost balance and fell on the road and came under the wheels of a mini truck which was coming from behind.
The body was shifted to MS Ramaiah hospital’s mortuary for the post-mortem. The police are questioning the victim’s friend. The truck driver has been arrested.
