Resort staffer killed by colleague after quarrel

A person has been arrested on charges of killing his colleague over a trivial argument on Sunday. The incident took place near Kottigepalya in Kamakshipalya police limits on Saturday around 8:30 pm. The accused has been identified as Shivanna alias Rajesh, a supervisor at a farm resort.
According to the sources, Shivanna and the deceased, Keshav, were both working as supervisors for the resort called ‘Malgudi Farms.’
Both of them often used to quarrel over a female colleague who had recently joined. The police have not revealed her identity as yet, but sources said Shivanna was trying to impress her.
Keshav was tasked by authorities to fix and maintain the payments for all the resort employees. However, Shivanna approached the female employee and paid her extra salary, more than what was fixed during her recruitment.
When Keshav came to know about this, he had an ugly spat with Shivanna and the office staff had to intervene to calm them down.
Later in the night, the heavily drunk Keshav approached Shivanna near the office premises and hurled abuses at him over the matter, the police said.
“When things turned violent, Shivanna took out a knife and allegedly stabbed Keshav in his stomach,” the police added.
Kamakshipalya police have registered a murder case and the accused has been arrested.
Further investigations by the police are underway.
