In a move to “democratize”  the shopping experience,  Flipkart has launched  Shopsy, a zero percent commission platform that lets  sellers reach approximately  200-500 million customers  looking for budget-friendly options. It has already  witnessed 35x growth on  a daily average. It is a departure from conventional  e-commerce to focus on the  end-consumer instead of  opinion-makers and bigleague influencers. Resellers from Tier 2 and  3 cities like Vadodara, Guntur and Agra have flocked  to the platform, hoping to  kickstart their entrepreneurial journey.

The platform has already  witnessed 16X growth in  the number of units sold  within the first four days of  The Big Billion Days festive  event. Over 2.5 lakh sellers  and 51 lakh users, including resellers, joined the  platform after the festival  season.

‘’By providing access  to its catalogue and fullstack e-commerce services  through a simplified social  media interface, Flipkart  believes it can democratize  commerce and can disrupt  the emerging social commerce landscape,” said  Prakash Sikaria, Senior  Vice President - Growth and  Monetization, Flipkart.
