Bengaluru, Jan. 30 Devanahalli police have registered a first information report (FIR) against Brigade Enterprises for alleged breach of agreement, trust and cheating. The FIR has been registered against M.R. Jaishankar, erstwhile chairman and managing director and six others of Brigade Enterprises.

The police have registered a case under the Sections of 406 (breach of trust), 420 (cheating), 211 (intent to cause injury), 288 (negligent conduct with respect to pulling down or repairing buildings), 423 (dishonest or fraudulent execution of deed of transfer containing false statement of consideration) based on a complaint lodged by Malka Irani on January 17, 2022.

In her complaint, Irani had stated that she and her husband had purchased a villa for Rs 2.50 crore at Brigade Atmosphere situated on Vijayapura Road at Devanahalli. Irani claimed she had paid money to Brigade Enterprises, but the latter has failed to honour the agreement and delayed handing over the villa to her.

She has claimed that Brigade Enterprises, instead of completing the villa, made her stay at Club House for a while and later told her to vacate it. “The employees of Brigade Enterprises have insisted that we stay at the unfinished villa. They have also compelled us to sign a document. They have lodged a false complaint with the police against us,’’ Irani said in a complaint.
