Health matters most: PFI holds marathon in Mysuru

Mysuru: Popular Front of India  (PFI) held a marathon rally  here on Tuesday as part of a  health awareness campaign. The rally was flagged  off by PFI State Secretary  Sharief Bajpe and started  from Milad Gate concluding  at Town Hall.

Addressing the gathering,  PFI State President Yasir  Hasan said the country was  facing a serious health crisis  with many people suffering  from lifestyle diseases like  diabetes and heart disease.  Besides, infants are dying  of malnutrition. It was the  duty of the government to  make health one of the fundamental rights of citizens.  The amount being spent  on the health sector is very  meagre when compared with  neighbouring countries. The  country witnessed several  deaths during the COVID-19  pandemic due to shortage of  hospitals, beds and oxygen.  This shows the gross negligence towards the health sector, he said.The SDPI State  President Abdul Majib also  spoke on the occasion. The  ‘Janarogyave Rashtrashakthi  2021’, an all India campaign  will go on till November 30.

SDPI slams MP Pratap Simha
 
Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) has slammed  Mysuru-Kodagu BJP MP Pratap Simha for  allegedly making ‘unethical, immoral and provocative’  statements against the minorities.
In a press release here, S.Swamy, Vice-President, SDPI,  Mysuru said that recently, Simha had made remarks  about minority women. It was high time, the MP  stopped playing with the sentiments of minorities and  hurting them. He must also stop engaging in political  tactics to polarise the Hindu vote, said Swamy adding  that the MP must behave like a parliamentarian and  focus on development of the region instead of stirring  communal hatred.
