Taxing times for Manyata Park

The BBMP on Tuesday issued seizure notices to several tax defaulters in the city including Manyata Tech Park at Nagawara and REVA University at Kattigenahalli.

The BBMP said that the owners of Manyata Tech Park have been defaulting on payment of property tax that amount to Rs 70 crore. “We had issued several notices and warnings earlier. The issue of their nonpayment was revealed to us when we recently completed the process of revision of taxes. We have issued a warrant & sealed the gates,” BBMP joint commissioner, Poornima said.

This is not the first time Manyata has faced issues pertaining to non-payment of taxes. In 2016 too, the BBMP had arrived with trucks to seize furniture from offices in the tech park.
