Noida/Shamli: SamajwadiParty president Akhilesh Yadavon Wednesday taunted UttarPradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, claiming that his ownparty had “isolated” him and accusedhim of playing the politicsof negativity.
Addressing a joint press inShamli’s Kairana with RashtriyaLok Dal’s Jayant Chaudhary, Yadavalso attacked the CM over his“language” in the run-up to the assemblypolls, which he said wouldbe a “Bhaichara banaam BharatiyaJanata Party” (brotherhoodversus the BJP) contest.
He referred to Adityanath’s reportedremarks on the “hot-blooded”SP-RLD alliance leaders. TheCM had said their “khoon kigarmi” would cool down oncethe assembly election results come in.
Yadav said Jayant Chaudharyhas been a partner of the SP sincea long time and will continue toget respect from his party.
“The point this time is thatthe BJP is worried over the supportthe alliance is getting fromfarmers. The farmers feel thiselection is for their self-respectand dignity. They won’t forgethow some farmers were crushedunder a jeep,” he said referringto the Lakhmipur Kheri violencelast October.
“The BJP is indulging in politicsof negativity. The SP-RLD tieupstands for brotherhood. On the “khoon ki garmi” jibe, the SP leader said, “What else canyou expect from this chief minister? He should tell if the powertariff in the state will come down. It’s not the first time I am hearinghim speak such language.”
“In fact, the Election Commissionshould take note of it thathow come a CM is uttering suchwords,” he added.
Yadav claimed that Adityanathis upset as he has been isolatedwithin the BJP.
“As far as the chief minister isconcerned, look at his affidavitand the number of cases he had.The BJP is wondering if it hasmade a mistake by making himthe CM. The ‘garmi’ can be seenin the chief minister because hewas seeking a poll ticket from otherseats, which he wanted but hasbeen denied and sent back home,” Yadav said.
There was speculation that theCM may be fielded from Ayodhya, before the party nominatedhim from his home turf Gorakhpur.
The former chief minister also alluded to a video clip in whichAdityanath is seen on foot whilePrime Minister Narendra Modi isin his car at the inauguration ofPurvanchal Expressway, and suggestedthat the CM is frustratedover the way the party has treated him.
