Post-bullet scare, Owaisi no to Z-security

New Delhi: AIMIM president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi said in Lok Sabha on Friday that he has rejected the ‘Z’ category security accorded to him by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). The Union government had decided to provide him the security following an incident in which his car was fired upon while he was returning to Delhi after campaigning in Uttar Pradesh. In the Rajya Sabha on Friday, Owaisi said he would instead like to be an ‘A’ category citizen. “I don’t fear death. I don’t want Z category security, I reject it; make me an ‘A’ category citizen.
