
Man cons women on dating app, held in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: A 33-year-old man who was about to open a software company has been arrested for cheating unmarried and divorced women through dating apps. After getting close with the victims, he would take their private photographs and then blackmail them for money.
The accused hails from Chhattisgarh and was posing himself as a bachelor even though he was married and had children. He has been arrested by the Kodigehalli police.
The police have identified the accused as Abhishek alias Sushanth Jain, 33. They have recovered Rs 3.6 lakh in cash and three mobile phones.
One of the victims, a resident of Kodigehalli, has approached the police after he started blackmailing her.
The accused befriended her through a dating app and then obtained her mobile phone number and started calling and messaging her.
On Tuesday, he is alleged to have gone to her house and took her private photographs in his mobile phone. He later started blackmailing her for money threatening to upload the pictures on social media if she did not give him money. The police arrested him in HSR Layout and are trying to find out if he is involved in any such cases.
