Schneider files for impersonation

French multinational Schneider Electric India Private Limited has approached the police to initiate
action against a person for impersonating as an employee of the company, in order to attend a global event.

The company said the impersonator was trying to attend ‘Pollutec 2021’ at Lyon in France from October 12-15. The incident came to light after the French Consulate in Bengaluru suspected foul play and sent the docu- ments to the company for verification.

After learning that the accused was an impersonator, the company filed a police complaint. The police have identified the accused as Periaswamy Ara- vinth, 25, a resident of 7th main Road, Rawath Nagar in Shettyhalli. He had used fake let- terhead, forged the sig- natures of the Human Resource Director and Human Resource Manager and used the company’s fake seal to apply for visa.
