Ibrahim to join JD(S) next week

Estranged Congress MLC C M Ibrahim confirmed joining Janata Dal (Secular) in Davangere next week.

Talking to reporters here on Saturday, Ibrahim said the date of formally joining the JD(S) would be decided in a day or two. Before that, he would tender resignation to the MLC post as well as to the primary membership of the Congress. A meeting was convened on February 14 in Hubballi and on that day they would decide the date of joining. “Need of the hour was the emergence of a third force as an alternative to both the Congress and BJP. I am confident that the JD(S) will reach that stage. People still have faith in the regional party,” Ibrahim said.
