A ‘Cold War’ has re- Aportedly hit the Bengaluru Rural Congress unit with supporters of Hosakote MLA Sharath Bachegowda and original Congress leaders taking on each other. This feud has reached the doors of Congress Legislature Party Leader Siddaramaiah with original Congress workers complaining that Sharath’s supporters have taken over the local unit without taking o r i g i n a l Cong ress w o r k e r s into confidence.

Supporters of S h a r a t h , a new entrant to the Congress, have put posters on social media hailing their leader saying he was responsible for the victory of the Congress c a n d i d a t e from the local bodies constituency in the Legislative Council poll.

This has upset original Congressmen and they have lodged a complaint with Siddaramaiah. The original Congress leaders have also complained against Bengaluru Rural District Congress Unit President Munishamanna for making Sharath’s supporters officebearers of the Hosakote unit.

Sharath reportedly colluded with Munishamanna and it was the latter who prompted him to contest the 2019 byelections. Now the issue has reached KPCC president DK Shivakumar who, according to sources, may have to take remedial steps before the situation goes out of control.
