App to facilitate donation for govt schools

Bengaluru, Feb. 9: To facilitate donation for the development of government schools in the state, the education department has developed a mobile app.

Speaking with reporters at a programme – Namma Shaale Nanna Koduge here, Minister for Primary and Secondary Education BC Nagesh said the app would be launched by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on February 14. “The mobile app will have all data on government schools that need to be renovated, the details of donors and the amount donated by the donors,’’ Nagesh said. The minister said of the 77,000 schools in the state there are 48,000 government schools.

“It has become a challenge to provide basic amenities at government schools in the state,” he added.
