The state government has decided to table a bill to start the recruitment drive of gazetted probationary officers selected through Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) in 2011 which was stopped due to charges of illegalities in the selection. Briefing reporters after the Cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai here on Wednesday, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister J.C.Madhuswamy said it was decided to push for a bill to give consent to the notification pertaining to the selection list prepared by KPSC way back in 2011. A few candidates had moved the court alleging a scam in the selection of gazetted probationary officers by the KPSC. Subsequently, it was probed by the CID.
The previous government had initially scrapped the selection but later okayed it in 2015. The bill would be tabled in the Legislative session for the nod for the recruitment process and preparation of seniority list. However, the government would go by whatever decision arrived in the State Legislature after a detailed discussion, he added.
