People will dump Congress in Arabian Sea: Araga

NT Correspondent

Accusing the Congress Party of indirectly instigating the hijab row, Home Minister Araga Jnanendra said the days are not far when people will dump the Congress in the Arabian Sea.

Talking to reporters here on Wednesday, he said KPCC President D.K. Shivakumar had made a misleading statement that the Tricolour was brought down and the saffron flag hoisted in front of a government college in Shivamogga district. The Superintendent of Police and Deputy Commissioner of Shivamogga have clarified that the national flag was not on the flag post. Shivakumar does not even know that the national flag is not hoisted in schools and colleges daily. Instead he has created a big scene saying the national flag was brought down. “Such an irresponsible statement by a senior Congress leader clearly shows the mindset and intentions of the grand old party of the country.’’

Replying to a question, he said cops have taken some persons into custody in connection with the incidents of stone throwing in several districts. A probe has begun to find the individuals and organizations behind the violence on Tuesday. School children must concentrate on education and must not fall prey to the trap of political parties, he added.
